Ocean Magic Marine Wildlife Adventure June 23 9am

The sun shone, the seas were flat calm as the 9am Ocean Magic headed across Haro Strait once out of the harbour. Capt. David and our crew of naturalists, Dan, Jen and Claire provided our guests with a fun filled and educational trip as we encountered some of the wildlife found here on the westcoast. We found some Resident Orca heading north along San Juan Island. These Killer Whales were part of J Pod, fish eating Orca. We watched as they made their way north past Lime Kiln Lighthouse. What a great trip, once again, full of westcoast wildlife for our international guests.

Most of the images on the blog are shot with a 400 mm & 600 mm telephoto lenses. Because of our restrictions around wildlife (100+ meters), we use powerful lenses to better share orca activity that passengers see on their trips. Keep in mind this also heavily compresses space between objects. We also crop images for best blog viewing.
