Ocean Magic Marine Wildlife Adventure July 20 9:00

July 22, 2013

Our Ocean Magic Marine Wildlife Adventure took us to East Point. Our Skipper Capt. Scott put us in excellent position to view K pod Orca as they headed west, proposing as they moved fast. There was amazing action as these Killer Whales broke free of the water in their fast proposing motion. We also observed breaching and some spy hops. The whales carried on west along the shoreline, a truly great viewing. Our crew of Casey (First Mate) and Jen (Naturalist) answered all our guests questions and past along a vast amount of information on this diverse eco-system. Our passengers were all smiles as they disembarked in Victoria’s picturesque inner harbour.

Most of the images on the blog are shot with a 400 mm & 600 mm telephoto lenses. Because of our restrictions around wildlife (100+ meters), we use powerful lenses to better share orca activity that passengers see on their trips. Keep in mind this also heavily compresses space between objects. We also crop images for best blog viewing.
