Ocean Magic Wlidlife Adventure July 8 12:15

July 12, 2011

Our 12:15 Ocean Magic II Wildlife Adventure was a great trip. Our Skipper Scott took us west around past Race Rocks Ecological Reserve to Church Rock. Here we found a large group of Transient Killer Whales on their way south east. We followed along as they made their way past Race Rocks. These are the Apex Marine Predator, kings of the oceans. We watched them as they made their way towards Victoria. We then took a tour of Race Rocks Ecological Reserve. We took in the sighs of Harbour Seals, and many birds as well as the sights of the large Light House on Race Rocks. Yet another great adventure on the Ocean Magic II with Prince of Whales!

Most of the images on the blog are shot with a 400 mm telephoto lens. Because of our restrictions around wildlife (100+ meters), we use powerful lenses to better share orca activity that passengers see on their trips. Keep in mind this also heavily compresses space between objects. We also crop images for best blog viewing.
