Our 9am Ocean Magic Marine Wildlife Adventure was wild. Our Skipper Capt. Scott took the Ocean Magic east across Haro Strait and up to Turn Point. Here we caught up with K and L pod as they made their way east. The water was flat and the skies blue as the Orca rose up for a breath, We observed breaching, spy hops and tail lobs. Out crew of First Mate Casey and Naturalist Jen, passed along a wealth of knowledge about these magnificent Killer Whales. Our tour then took us back along Victoria’s scenic waterfront to the inner harbour. Yet another amazing Marine Wildlife Adventure with Prince of Whales!
Most of the images on the blog are shot with a 400 mm & 600 mm telephoto lenses. Because of our restrictions around wildlife (100+ meters), we use powerful lenses to better share orca activity that passengers see on their trips. Keep in mind this also heavily compresses space between objects. We also crop images for best blog viewing.
