Prince of Whales Celebrates the start of the New Year Announcing Biosphere Certification Across All Locations
Prince of Whales proudly announces its Biosphere Certification across its Vancouver, Victoria, and Telegraph Cove locations! This international sustainability certification reflects the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship and aligns with its commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda.
“All locations becoming Biosphere Certified recognizes our commitment to our sustainability goals,” expresses Nik Coutinho, Prince of Whales’ Sales and Marketing Manager, “and we’re proud to standardize sustainable practices at every operational level.” The organization has adopted a variety of sustainable measures, encompassing efforts to diminish its carbon footprint and eliminate single-use plastics. These initiatives are geared towards providing eco-friendly whale-watching tours that significantly minimize environmental impact.
The adoption of Biosphere’s sustainability model by Prince of Whales is a significant New Year’s achievement. “It underscores our commitment to positive change in the local tourism industry,” continues Nik, “showcasing best practices that resonate across our beautiful region.”
As a member of 1% for the Planet, Prince of Whales pledges a minimum of 1% of its annual revenue to environmental causes. Additionally, the company partners with organizations to amplify conservation efforts and supports local initiatives through its Climate Positive designation. These actions, paired with their newest Biosphere Certification showcase Prince of Whales’ commitment to eco-tourism. The company continues to sail towards a more sustainable future across its Vancouver, Victoria, and Telegraph Cove locations.
