Do tours run in all types of weather?

Tours operate rain or shine! Safety is our priority and, in extreme weather conditions or high winds, adventures may be cancelled at the discretion of our qualified crew. We will be in touch should this be the case.

Will we really see whales?

Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months.

What happens if we don’t see a whale?

This adventure is covered by our year-round Whale Sighting Guarantee. In the unlikely case, we do not see whales on this adventure, you can join us on another whale watching tour. This guarantee is valid for a lifetime!

Are there bathrooms on the boat?

The boat we use for this tour is equipped with two airline-style washrooms.

Do passengers often feel seasick?

No, our boats are custom-built for whale watching with passengers in mind. Captain and crew will also do their best to minimize the impact of the sea. However, if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you purchase non-drowsy Gravol from a pharmacy prior to your adventure with us.

Are there snacks or beverages on board?

Complementary tea, coffee & hot chocolate will be available on board. Light snacks (chips, cookies, chocolate bars) can be purchased with CAD cash. You can also bring your own snacks.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations are definitely recommended. Adventures often sell out and we don’t want you to be disappointed.

Best part of our vacation The crew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We did see three separate sightings of whales, seals, and bald eagles. James was especially nice and out going. The Ultimate excursion was a little expensive, but worth the price for a once in a lifetime trip. We are so glad that we made this trip with Prince of Whales.

Amazing trip Took my daughter for the half day tour for her 9th birthday and we had an amazing time. The boat ride was awesome, the staff were really great, especially the guide, Craig, who treated her like a princess. We saw a humpback (Trinity) and her calf and saw them breach. Wonderful memories for my daughter!

Worth every cent! Orcas on a hunt and a knowledgable crew! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Bucket list item ticked off! Thank you so much!

We did a half day tour from Vancouver. We spotted a pod of Orca. A large male, females and a calf that were hunting! Truly amazing. Aaron our driver was very cautious of keep a distance that was safe for the whales (wonderful in my opinion.) He was also reguarly manouvering the boat to give us great different angles and keeping both sides of the boat happy with clear lines of sight of the pod.

Wilma was extremely knowledgeable about the whales and their families, on the way back after the sightings we learnt the history of the individual whales we had seen! Truly amazing!

Selena and Olivia gave wonderful service throughout the voyage. Hot drinks and blankets were avaliable for all, and it did get chilly when we picked up some speed.

    Thank you all! :)

Simply Amazing!!! My girlfriend and I were on the November 2, 2019 tour, and we were simply blown away by the experience. The crew and staff were informative, engaging, and helpful. We did see humpback whales, a bald eagle, and sea lions. The humpbacks put on a show for us and actually breached 3 times during our encounter. AMAZING!!! We were late into the season for orca watching, so we will have to come back next year during the summer months. It was worth every penny. Thank you again!

Amazing day Amazing experience from start to finish. Staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Once the trip day and time were picked the excitement built. On the boat the staff were fun, caring and knowledgeable not only about the whales but of all the wildlife and surrounding areas. Would go again in a heart beat.
