Experience

Experience the majesty of the Salish Sea and its wildlife, from whales surfacing in unison to bald eagles soaring overhead. Cut through the Strait of Juan de Fuca’s currents in search of orcas and humpback whales, and listen to our marine mammal experts bring the animals stories to life (while you stay warm, dry and hydrated in its heated cabin, of course!) The quintessential whale watching experience for every adventurer.

Did you know? Bald eagles mate for life, like wolves (we have those, too!)

What To Bring

It gets cold out on the water (trust us!), so we recommend windbreaker jackets, sweaters, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. It’s also a good idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a tight-fitting hat, a camera to capture some memorable moments and, above all, your sense of adventure!

Onboard snacks are available for purchase with CAD cash only (no credit/debit cards accepted) but please feel free to bring your own snacks if you wish.

Awesome Humpbacks Not much else to say - thoroughly enjoyable trip with Jasper on a morning Zodiac adventure for the family.

Highlight was Humpback sightings including one very large whale that was launch feeding the krill soup that was served up by nature's west coast kitchen this morning !

Jasper shared a lot of information to the passengers and always observed a respectful distance from the undersea visitors.

The weather was very warm and calm which made for excellent viewing and hardly a drop of spray to worry any of the expensive cameras on the boat - even at speed. The zodiac ribs seem to be super stable and agile - I want one !

Great experience! Had fun today with Roman, Sharon, and Vanessa. Great crew who work together to make for a fantastic day. Orcas, eagles, and humpbacks were on the list of sightings. Good way to take in the Telegraph Cove area.

Great time We had a beautiful ride over to the Vancouver Island vicinity and spent an hour watching a pod of killer whales. Could have watched them all day! Simply spectacular.

Half Day Whale Watching Went out on the Salish Sea today through Boundary Pass with Captain Joe, Lilli ana Valerie. We were blessed with T86As, T101s, and T124As hunting Sea Lions. T86A also had a calf approx 1yr old, and was outta control with excitement 😆 My partner happily took around 800 photos on her DSLR from a safe distance of 200+ meters away. Wished we could have taken more, but am beyond stoked with the ones we got. This is the only acceptable way to view sea life - in the wild where they belong.

Great knowledgeable staff who are always wanting to find whales. We had a great trip - we were able to see a small pod of orca's on our trip to Victoria. The crew went out of their way to find whales for us to view. On board the staff were knowledgeable about the different whales that frequent the area as well as other marine life. The admin team were very helpful when we needed to change some dates around. On our return trip we were fortunate to see a group of approx 15 Orca's which was amazing. The same day, the morning trip had seen 8 humpbanks near the entrance to Victoria Haarbour.

A childhood dream came true We decided to go on a whale watching tour twice and both times were so amazing. Best 140 dollars we spent so far on our canada trip! Both times we saw orcas and humpback whales, sea lions and other marine life. The crew scotty and alan knew very much about the different whales and shared their knowledge with us. Scotty also put a hydrophone in the water so we heard the orcas communicating with each other, which was amazing. He was respectful and always kept a good distance with the boat so that the whales didn‘t get stressed out. Thanks a lot we definitely would come back :)

Brilliant We went out with Captain Chris, Bill, Valerie Laura and Lili today and while out saw 21 Whales. We also go to hear them which we were told was very unusual. The crew Knew their stuff and were passionate about the whales. We were told that the amount of whales we saw was unusual. Got some great photos. Recommend going.

Absolutely amazing-one of the best experiences I've ever had! An excellent whale watching trip. I have been on several whale watching trips before but this one was the best. We saw Orcas, Humpbacks and on the way back we stopped at an island overflowing with Sea Lions. The guides were constantly looking for whales. They were concerned that we didn't have a close viewing but we saw a couple pods of Orcas and several Humpback whales close enough to see them quite well. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months.

The boat we use for this tour is equipped with two airline-style washrooms.

Do passengers often feel seasick?

No, our boats are custom-built for whale watching with passengers in mind. Captain and crew will also do their best to minimize the impact of the sea. However, if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you purchase non-drowsy Gravol from a pharmacy prior to your adventure with us.
