Great trip and crew and whales First of all the crew (Capt. Joe, 1st Mate Lily, Rory, Valerie, etc.) were the best. They were knowledgeable, friendly and patient. After a great deal of searching we found a pod (the J pod) of over 20 whales.
Lessons learned : dress warmly, in layers with hat and gloves because the boat(Ocean Magic) really moves and the wind really blows.
    It was a fantastic afternoon.

Thrill of a lifetime We were treated to see Orcas and Humpbacks!
    What a trip
The boat was equipped with blankets, scarfs, hats if needed.
The presentation by the Naturist were both informative and amusing.
The safety procedures were presented pretty well before we left the dock.

Fantastic Trip! I went on a Whale Watching Tour on the Ocean Magic on July 15 with Captain Roman and then Rebecca was our naturalist. Roman did a great job getting us close to the whales and lined up nicely to get good photos out of the way of other boats while staying a safe distance away While traveling between different areas, and whenever we saw wildlife, Rebecca was extremely informative and helpful giving facts, identifying the different whales, and answering all questions! She is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about her job and the whales and it really showed. I had never seen whales before going out with Prince of Whales and it was a great first experience; I would highly recommend to others!

Great staff, well organized, and WHALES! Dress warmly for these whale watching adventures as it can get a little chilly on the upper deck. Not to worry though, they have gloves, hats and blankets to keep you warm. They found us 6 or 7 visible whales, males, female and calves for us to marvel over. The sea lions, deer and big horn sheep were a major plus.

Great experience Maybe we were lucky but we saw Orcas, Humpbacks, sea lions, porpoises and sea eagles. Guides were I formative and genuinely loved doing what they do, great to see them as excited as we all were to see these magnificent creatures.

Absolutely amazing-one of the best experiences I've ever had! An excellent whale watching trip. I have been on several whale watching trips before but this one was the best. We saw Orcas, Humpbacks and on the way back we stopped at an island overflowing with Sea Lions. The guides were constantly looking for whales. They were concerned that we didn't have a close viewing but we saw a couple pods of Orcas and several Humpback whales close enough to see them quite well. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

FAQS

Do tours run in all types of weather?

Tours operate rain or shine! Safety is our priority and, in extreme weather conditions or high winds, adventures may be cancelled at the discretion of our qualified crew. We will be in touch should this be the case.

Will we really see whales?

Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months.

What happens if we don’t see a whale?

This adventure is covered by our year-round Year-Round Whale Sighting Guarantee. In the unlikely case, we do not see whales on this adventure, you can join us on another whale watching tour. This guarantee is valid for a lifetime!

Are there bathrooms on the boat?

The boat we use for this tour is equipped with two airline-style washrooms.

Do passengers often feel seasick?

No, our boats are custom-built for whale watching with passengers in mind. Captain and crew will also do their best to minimize the impact of the sea. However, if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you purchase non-drowsy Gravol from a pharmacy prior to your adventure with us.

Are there snacks or beverages on board?

Complementary tea, coffee & hot chocolate will be available on board. Light snacks (chips, cookies, chocolate bars) can be purchased with CAD cash. You can also bring your own snacks.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations are definitely recommended. Adventures often sell out and we don’t want you to be disappointed.
