General Booking Policy

We reserve the right to cancel the tour if there are fewer than 4 guests booked on our Zodiac departures in Telegraph Cove and on Sea Vancouver experiences, 4 guests booked on our Zodiac departures in Victoria, and 20 guests booked on our Catamaran departures.

Payment with credit card is required at the time of booking for online bookings, all payments are final sale. Please note that Prince of Whales reserves the right to ask that the credit card used in the booking be presented as well as matching photo ID.

It might take up to 48 hours to confirm your booking. Please refer to confirmation email for departure location and further details.

Passengers are not allowed to smoke (cigarettes, vapes, cigars), or consume alcohol or drugs while on board our vessels.

Please check in 30 minutes prior to departure time at Prince of Whales Whale Watching’ location’s office, depending on departure location. The boat will not be held for late passengers.

Cancellation Policy

Ticket Assurance offers added flexibility and peace of mind when booking. If purchased at the time of booking, it allows you to cancel or transfer your ticket(s) up to 12 hours before the scheduled departure time. The cost of Ticket Assurance is 10% of the ticket price, plus applicable taxes. Please note that Ticket Assurance must be added during the initial booking process to be valid. If Ticket Assurance is not purchased, the following will apply:

For independent travel bookings of 9 passengers or less: 48 hours before scheduled departure, partial or whole cancellations made within 48 hours before departure will not be refundable. Tour amendments cannot be completed within a 48-hour window. There will be no refunds for cancellations within the cancellation period.
For groups of 10-19: 14 days before scheduled departure, partial or whole cancellations made within 14 days before departure will not be refundable. Tour amendments cannot be guaranteed within a 14-day window.
For Groups 20+: 21 days before scheduled departure; partial or whole cancellations made within 21 days before departure will not be refundable. Tour amendments cannot be guaranteed within the 21-day window.
For wholesale, travel trade, and 3rd party bookings, the cancellation and amendment policy can differ. Please refer to your booking contract for details.
Promo or discounted bookings are non-refundable.

Gift Certificate Policy

Please note that donated and promo gift certificates are not redeemable on long weekends or holidays. Other blackout dates may apply. Bookings made with a Gift Certificate are solely refundable onto the original Gift Certificate itself. Gift Certificates are nonrefundable or redeemable for cash.

Whale Sighting Guarantee Policy

If you don’t see any whales, you are welcome to join us for another tour. When you redeem your Whale Sightings Guarantee, the base fare/rate is complimentary. Fees and taxes still apply. Please note that these fees go directly towards our conservation and carbon offset programs; we are proud to be a leader in sustainable whale watching, and it would not be possible without the contributions and efforts of our wonderful guests (you!).
