Prince of Whales- whale watching tour We had a great time out on the zodiac, the driver was very knowledgeable and we got to see all types of wildlife. We saw transient orca whales, seals, and bald eagles.

I would recommend this tour. It was a lot of fun.

Six stars out of five My family [daughter, son-in-law, and 13 y/o granddaughter] and I booked a few days ahead of time [good idea] for the half-day tour. We had the big catamaran which was very comfortable especially for someone who was not about to get into a zodiac!
Be warned, dress warmly! Even though it was a beautiful warm day in the Inner Harbour, it is COLD when you get moving on the open water. I sat up top at the front for about two hours but during a lull in the activity, I came in to warm up a bit. [even tho I was dressed warmly]
We weren't out for very long when 2 Humpback whales appeared on the scene. One, it was soon ascertained, was known as "Big Mama". Instead of spouting-off a couple of times and then diving, these 2 were having quite a lovely time and seemed to be seeking out the boat. They swam and cavorted and carried on for at least 30 mins. before we headed off in search of others.
We went to Race Rocks and saw harbour seals, sea lions, a Stellar sea lion, a sea otter and an interesting bird with orange legs [see photo].
It was a beautiful day for a boat ride and we all loved this completely exhilarating experience. The staff are professional and friendly and I want to do this tour on a monthly basis, as I live in Victoria. Cannot recommend this enough!!!

Fantastic! Today we went on a zodiac with our skipper, Rush. It was really amazing. We saw a big group of humpback whales. Later we saw three killer whales, one was grey (albino whale) They were hunting a dolphin and they got him. Really crazy to see from so nearby. Rush gave us a lot of information and was a great skipper! The weather was great and the boat ride was really fantastic!

The best crew in the Strait I cannot recommend Prince of Whales highly enough, they are fantastic! Our first trip saw very little whale action, so the team made the decision to offer us the "whale sighting guarantee", but it wasn't for lack of trying on their part - the whole team is very knowledgable, and they go to great lengths to engage all of their visitors on the ecology and topography of the Georgia Strait, no matter the trickiness of the question. Our second visit was just as warm and welcoming as the first, with the excellent wildlife sightings we'd been hoping for! Several feeding humpbacks regularly breaching, sea lions, seals, eagles, ospreys, even a river otter, we were spoiled for choice.
The team really go above and beyond to make every trip special for every guest, and the boat is exceptionally comfortable, even in less than ideal weather conditions. I can honestly say I'd sail with Prince of Whales every day if I could!

Exciting and Educational! This was one of our best days out in Victoria! We chose the morning whale watching trip and we were thoroughly treated to a few pods of whales feeding in the bay. Once we reached a point far from the shore, we started spotting whale activity and we were entertained for the next hour! Pods of whales were feeding, diving and surfacing in the general area so the captain was able to direct the catamaran as close as possible while still being safe for the whales, making sure we didn't disturb them during their feeding. This was mid-August, so it was the height of their feeding season. We were delighted! We also were treated to a view of loads of seals resting or playing on a nearby island. It was a magical day for all of our family and it was some of the best spent hours of our lives!

Zodiac Trip We had a great 3+ hours on the Prince of Whales zodiac tour in the early afternoon. The skipper was brilliant - friendly, knowledgeable & created a nice atmosphere. We were lucky enough to see transient orcas, residents and humpbacks - absolutely incredible and at times we didn’t know where to look as they were everywhere around us! Would recommend, and would happily use again.

Whales! Whales! Whales! Wow! 11 Humpbacks in one 4+ hour tour. Breaching, pectoral waiving, and flukes up in the air. The boat from which our viewing was possible was fast and very stable. The crew were all very knowledgeable and added a great deal of insight into what we were all seeing. Wilma was our naturalist and she was fantastic.

We were running a bit behind finding parking and with my grandma who is a bit slower of walking, we called and explained our situation and that we would be there and the staff said not a problem! We got down to the boat by 12:10. The staff were so friendly and understanding to help us in anyway possible!! Remarkable!! Captain Chris and the crew were just amazing! The amount of whales we saw today even impressed the crew! We saw about 8 different whales today! Suck knowledgeable staff and all around amazing!! Thank you thank you thank!! A once in a lifetime experience the crew is so dedicated to ensuring a great experience. Sandy was vigilant in spotting the whales and they were all so enthusiastic and informative. we saw orca and humpback and seals and eagles...bouchart gardens are world class. ensure you take the 2:00 shuttle to allow enough time to time them before the boat arrives. this trip is worth the price. boat was state of the art and none of us experienced any motion sickness. the trip exceeded all our expectations !
