Telegraph Cove WHALE INTERPRETATIVE CENTRE
The Whale Interpretive Centre (WIC) is located in Telegraph Cove, BC and run by Johnstone Strait Killer Whale Interpretive Centre Society (JSKWICS), a registered charitable society.
The WIC was founded in 2002 to provide a venue in which to increase public awareness about the biology of marine mammals and the anthropogenic threats facing their populations. The Whale Interpretive Centre was home to one of the best collections of marine mammal skeletons in British Columbia.
On December 31, 2024 a devastating structural fire destroyed a good portion of the historic boardwalk in Telegraph Cove. The Whale Interpretive Centre and its amazing collection of marine mammal skeletons and educational resources did not survive this fire.
A fundraiser was started by the WIC to rebuild, and restore their invaluable collection. Please consider donating to this cause when planning your trip to Telegraph Cove.
