Nestled on Vancouver Island’s northern bounds, Telegraph Cove is an intimate haven for whale watchers and conservationists. A former fishing village, today Telegraph Cove plays host to our quintessential whale watching adventure. Cut through Johnstone Strait’s currents and navigate the Broughton archipelago in search of orcas and humpback whales, and listen to our marine mammal experts bring the animals’ stories to life from the comfort of your cruiser.
Both tours included in this package must be redeemed within 7 days from the date of the first tour redemption. Should you need to reschedule your booking, please contact us at your earliest convenience. Please note booking will not be refundable within 30 days of your booking.
It gets cold out on the water (trust us!), so we recommend windbreaker jackets, sweaters, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. We will also provide you with either warm all-weather exposure suits or lifejackets (depending on weather conditions) to wear on top of your clothes. It’s also a good idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a tight-fitting hat, a camera to capture some memorable moments and, above all, your sense of adventure!
This adventure is not suitable for anyone with a history of serious medical conditions, including but not limited to, back or neck injuries, recent surgery, and/or current or suspected pregnancy. Passengers under 4ft/120cm in height or 50lb/23kg in weight also cannot join (typically applies to children under 7 y.o.).
Each passenger is required to sign a Release of Liability at check-in. Participants must be 19 years of age or require a parent or guardian to sign on their behalf.
The boat used for this adventure is not wheelchair accessible.
Tours operate rain or shine! Safety is our priority and, in extreme weather conditions or high winds, adventures may be cancelled at the discretion of our qualified crew. We will be in touch should this be the case. If one or both of your tours are cancelled due to weather you will receive a refund for the tour/tours cancelled.
This package is suitable for all over 10 years old. Physical restrictions apply for the kayaking portion of this package. Our state of the art kayaks have some sizing restrictions to ensure all of our guests’ comfort and safety. For this tour, the kayaks support a total weight 529 lb (240kg) for a two person boat. The cockpit seating measures 35.5”L x 17.3”W. Please contact us directly if you have concerns regarding fitting comfortably in our kayaks.
Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your whale-watching tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months. During your kayaking tour, expect to see other wildlife such as otters, seals, sea lions and bald eagles. Viewing whales during a 4 hour kayaking tour is very rare.
This adventure is covered by our year-round Whale Sighting Guarantee. In the unlikely case, we do not see whales on this adventure, you can join us on another whale watching tour. This guarantee is valid for a lifetime!

The boat we use for this tour is equipped with two airline-style washrooms.
No, our boats are custom-built for whale watching with passengers in mind. Captain and crew will also do their best to minimize the impact of the sea. However, if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you purchase non-drowsy Gravol from a pharmacy prior to your adventure with us.
Complementary tea, coffee & hot chocolate will be available on board of your whale watching tour. Light snacks (chips, cookies, chocolate bars) can be purchased with CAD cash. You can also bring your own snacks. Please feel free to bring your own snacks, and ensure to bring a refillable bottle of water on your kayaking trip.
Reservations are definitely recommended. Adventures often sell out and we don’t want you to be disappointed.
