Do tours run in all types of weather?

Tours operate rain or shine! Safety is our priority and, in extreme weather conditions or high winds, adventures may be cancelled at the discretion of our qualified crew. We will be in touch should this be the case.

Will we really see whales?

Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months.

What happens if we don’t see a whale?

This adventure is covered by our year-round Whale Sighting Guarantee. In the unlikely case, we do not see whales on this adventure, you can join us on another whale watching tour. This guarantee is valid for a lifetime!

Are there bathrooms on the boat?

The boat we use for this tour is equipped with two airline-style washrooms.

Do passengers often feel seasick?

No, our boats are custom-built for whale watching with passengers in mind. Captain and crew will also do their best to minimize the impact of the sea. However, if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you purchase non-drowsy Gravol from a pharmacy prior to your adventure with us.

Are there snacks or beverages on board?

Complementary tea, coffee & hot chocolate will be available on board. Light snacks (chips, cookies, chocolate bars) can be purchased with CAD cash. You can also bring your own snacks.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Reservations are definitely recommended. Adventures often sell out and we don’t want you to be disappointed.

Had a great time! Saw lots of whales! My husband and I went in this tour fully aware that we may or may not see whales. We chose the early tour at 830am. We saw some sea lions on the way to where the whales hang out and we did get to see some humpback whales and got a lot of good pics. Aurora was very knowledgeable and loves whales you can tell. I would highly recommend this tour. Take a good camera with zoom!

So much fun! My husband and I booked this half day trip in hopes of seeing a whale or two - we saw 5! All humpbacks. The Orcas didn’t make an appearance but seeing whales up close like that was amazing. Wilma was excellent as first mate and was so knowledgeable. Captain Aaron was great and kept trying to get us closer to the whales or try to find more for us. Selena and Aurora were great too! They greeted us, explained what to expect and were so personable. Quite funny girls! They say half day because of the wild nature of the whales, you might have to wait out there for the full 5 hours, but it can be as short as 3-3.5 hours (like ours). Either way this is a great afternoon excursion and definitely recommend it!

Superb Experience We did the Vancouver to Victoria one-way excursion in the morning and it was the perfect way to travel between the two cities. Although sightings are never guaranteed, we were lucky enough to see a humpback mother and calf and a pod of Orcas, as well as some seals and a bald eagle. The knowledge of the staff was excellent and they were great in explaining what was going on answering questions we had. We had Malcom, Sandy, Stuart and Mar who were all excellent. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Half day whale watching’s fantastic Thanks to our guide Wilma and caption Aaron. We saw an abundance of humpback whales up to 2 digits. It’s such a joy and satisfaction to watch them swimming and playing around boats. Strongly recommend

Amazing zodiac tour with Scotty! I can’t even believe how amazing our experience was today. About 10 minutes in and we saw a humpback whale with a calf. We saw a total of 7 humpbacks which Scotty was able to identify and give us great information about. Scotty obviously has a great passion for his job and answered every question with great detail and enthusiasm. On the way back to telegraph cove he also took us to see a group of Stella sea lions and we were also lucky enough to see some dalls porpoise too! Thanks so much Prince of Whales, definitely a tour I won’t forget!

Fantastic trip! This was an incredible experience- really well run (blankets and hats included as it was cold on the open water) with super experienced and knowledgeable crew. Captains Bill and Joe were fantastic, taking us from harbour and elephant seals right into a pod of Humpback 🐋 and Lily, Rory and Laura told us so much information about the whales that we learnt so much as well as had such a fantastic experience with the animals. Bought for my dads 70th but we all had a unique experience and a truly memorable day out.

Whales Whales and more Brilliant tour. Saw a pod of 5 transient Orcas for at least an hour. Then we travelled 7 miles to see a Humpback Whale. Add in a Bald Eagle, Sea Otter, Elephant Seals and Harbour Seals The staff were so informative and seemed genuinely excited by the Orca sighting. Highly recommended. The boat was really comfortable, loads of room to move around and is new this season

Whale Watching without the Whales! Although the whales decided not to grace us with their presence the boat ride was fun!! My father, my husband and I enjoyed the zodiac ride trying to find them. Beautiful scenery! Jasper, our captain, was knowledgeable, and very friendly. The sea lions, seals and eagles were impressive ... especially the sea lions!

Fantastic experience! We had an extraordinary outing with Prince of Whales, saw 9 orcas feeding, a humpback willing to surface several times for us, several groups of harbour porpoises, and sea lions galore at Whale Rocks! All of this with sunshine and a wonderfully educational commentary from naturalist Lili. Her enthusiasm and passion were contagious and made the trip!
