Great Whale Watching Trip, Super-friendly Crew! Starting from beautiful Telegraph Cove, I participated in a whale watching tour. We took our boat through the areas where they expected to find certain whales. We got lucky to get approached by a few Doll's Purpose. Later, we saw a few humpback whales and even a family of orcas! To finish it all off, we saw a sea otter swimming close by. It was such a great experience! Much more than I expected.

The crew was well informed and could always provide relevant information to what we saw out on the waters. It was pretty cool how the captain was able to spot and approach wildlife, just by sight, with minimum disturbance of the animals. Shoutout to Rebecca for answering all my questions, it was so interesting to learn so much about whales! Would do again if I had the chance too.

BEST DAY OF THE SEASON! We saw so much wild life that day... massive sea lions languishing and squabbling on a favorite ocean rock, eagles feeding, seals, countless orcas and humpback whales, school of dolphins. It was a gorgeous, sunny and crisp day in Vancouver--even snow capped Mt Baker was visible in the distance. We were told by the crew that it was the best day of the season for sea life. I'm not out there every day so I will take their word for it. Personally it was a highlight of a lifetime. The captain and crew were fantastic! And a special shout out to naturalist and crew member Wilma Fuchs, whose knowledge and enthusiasm made the day over the top EXTRA special! I highly recommend this adventure to everyone, locals and travellers!

Great afternoon of whale watching We had a great time on this trip. Weather was perfect and our captain Aaron and naturalist Wilma did an awesome job. We saw harbour seals, bald eagles and both Orca and Humpback whales.

Aaron did a good job finding the whales and getting us into position for viewing - though be aware, for the whales' safety you are about 200 yards away from them.

Wilma was awesome in telling us about the area and was armed with what seemed an infinite supply of knowledge about the whales and other wildlife.

The boat was very clean and comfortable with multiple areas for sitting - inside, outside and such. Do bring layers because even on a warm day it can be cool.

A wonderful afternoon!! This was the highlight of our visit to Vancouver. And yes we did see Orcas!!! The weather was beautiful but cold. The boat has plenty of seating inside and out and provides hot drinks for free. This was a wonderful experience even without the whales. The views of the mountains, lake side homes and other wild life made the whole trip interesting. Would do it again, was just a great afternoon. The staff are friendly and informative and talk with such passion. It was just a thrill to see these lovely creatures.

Windy The Whale I had the good fortune too experience The Prince of Whales your company on my very first visit to Vancouver on Sept 16, 2019. I cannot day enough about the staff on Granville Island and on the boat. Knowledgeable, helpful, passionate, enthusiastic, friendly, and so accommodating are a few things I would start with. It did help we had fabulous weather and a very calm day on the water that made seeing anything so much easier. My cousin and I managed to see 4 harbour proposes, seals, sea lions and the bucket list moment of the day was the very friendly and playful Windy the Humpback whale that just wanted to stay and play! We discovered the whale’s name as Tom (tour guide) looked it up on the whale catalogue that is now being kept to track the whales. Our experience was nothing short of magic. She would go from side to side of the boat so everyone could see her, piping her head out to take a peak and then waving her beautiful tail and pectoral fins at us! We were in heaven! She blew from blowhole when emerging with beautiful grunts. For her best trick she began to roll and surprised us all including the crew by unleashing a whale of a poo! It was fantastic! Hilarious and fantastic, not something any of us expected to see, but we’re delighted with the hilarity and her obvious comfort with her audience. Sadly she swam off and we were delighted with our meeting. Then she came back for more!! The little showoff or perhaps just enjoying the company she stayed again for s good half hour. Feeling blessed we thought we were heading back but no, off to see sea lions who majestically posed for our cameras then some lazy daisy seals who barely lifted their their sleepy heads form their afternoon nap in the sun to see us!
All in all it was a dreamy 5 hours on the Straight of Georgia with my darling cousin and the sun shining down on us.
The crew of Ian, Wilma, Tom & Roya we’re just the icing on the cake as they were as excited as we were to be there and they do this everyday!!!
If you are on Vancouver and you find yourself wondering what to do, you have a problem! If you do have said problem go to see the mariners are Prince Of Whales tours and they will solve your problem. You are doing yourself an injustice by not going. Dress warmly even if it is sunny! The trip back at 7 pm in the evening was a wee bit chilly. They do offer a complimentary tea or hot chocolate which is wonderful but you will need more than that to be comfortable on the way back. I did the afternoon half day tour and loved it! Worth every penny and then some.
