Fantastic Whale watching with Prince of Whales! This was a fantastic day! We chose Prince of Whales whale and Marine Wildlife Adventures for our whale watching tour on September 20th, 2019.

The weather was good but the group of people that were our guides on the Prince of Whales boat were all amazing!! Specifically Seanie, who was our Naturalist on the boat. Seanie is very knoweldgeable on marine life, especially whales, their habitat and habits.
Seanie is very passionate about whales and explained the difference between the resident Orcas and the transient orcas which was fascinating!! Seanie also explained the feeding habits and life cycles of the whales.

We went on after the Orcas feeling very fortunate to see both types only to be surrounded by humpbacks!! Of course we watched at the proper distance, the staff was very concerned about the wellbeing of the whales which was inspiring.

We also saw many different types of birds in the area.

This was a fantastic trip, I highly recommend going with Prince of Whales.

Great experience!! Loved the knowledgeable and friendly staff! It was a wonderful experience, despite the cold winds! The Captain drove farther North and we were able to see 9 orcas!! It was a great experience. Highly recommend!

Whales Galore - August 18, 2019 Our family including my 90 year old dad went out of Victoria for a whale watching tour onboard their new catamaran. The vessel itself is built in such away with thick glass sides that you can see out both sides of the ship with an un obstructive view. We had as crew, Chris the skipper, Bill first mate, Rory and Laura as crew. They were all fantastic and knowledgeable. Chris gave me a tour of the wheelhouse - incredible. The vessel can do over 30 knots using water jets - no chance of hurting a whale with a revolving prop. The vessel is super stable and my dad who has difficulty walking was able to move around the vessel without having to use the hand rails, due to the 2 pontoon design. When reached the humpback feeding grounds around the Sooke area it was incredible. Humpbacks were everywhere. You could look in any direction and see blow, the Humpback's back and their tails high in the air. We saw single animals, groups of animals up to 6 at a time. It was a spectacular event. While this was going on both Rory and Laura were giving us play by plays as to what the whales were doing. They were absolutely excellent!! Everyone on board was amazed. My biggest thrill was to be able to take Dad out an whale watching tour for his birthday. He loved that he could walk around the boat without any problems and see so many whales. I would recommend that seniors use this vessel for its stability and ease people can move around!! In all, the trip and crew were awesome and we will do it again. I am sorry I can only give this 5 starts out of 5. i want to give you 10 stars. If you want to go whale watching, this is the company, vessel and crew you will want to go with. I guarantee you will have an excellent adventure.

Amazing experience Excellent experience!! Everyone who worked there was super friendly and knowledgeable about the animals we saw! During the 3 hours we were out there we say 4 humpback whales, a bunch of different seals and 13 killer whales! It was amazing. We got super close to the animals to take pictures but we’re still respectful and gave them enough space between us.

Whales & so much more First thanks to Aurora who was an excellent tour guide and was excellent with the children. They've remembered so much she said!

A great trip, well organized. We saw a whale many times then headed towards Vancouver island to see seals, sealions and bald eagles. What a treat!

We were at the end of the queue getting on so ended up downstairs behind the glass at the front which was disappointing. However this was lucky as we didn't get blown around so much as those outside. The first hour-ish was zooming along getting to the desired location. So outside people were getting sprayed, etc.

Amazing and informative experience. We were so glad that we went whale watching. It wasn't the cheapest activity but seeing as some of the money goes towards conservation then that was fine by us. We went with the mindset that we'd be pleased with whatever we saw and we got very lucky as we we're able to follow a pod of orca as well as seeing humpback whales. The staff were brilliant in particular Mike the captain and Jen the first mate who was on hand to answer any questions and show us pictures of the orcas that we had just seen. Jen was also brilliant with the children on board. I would definitely recommend this to any nature lovers.

I would just ensure that you leave plenty of time to get from Downtown to Granville Island if you weren't getting a taxi as it's a good walk + short bus boat across to the island.
