Will we really see whales?

Yes! There is a high chance of seeing orcas, humpbacks, and other types of whale on your tour. Our year-round whale sighting success rate is ~95% (averaged across all of our adventures) with chances being even higher during summer months.

What happens if we don’t see a whale?

Do passengers often feel seasick?

Great Day on the Water We were traveling with our adult children and had a half-day tour, we booked the afternoon and had a fabulous staff we sat on top and our guide was Wilma she was amazing and so informative. Would do it again in a heartbeat, we saw seals, sea otters, killer whales and bald eagles.

Perfect day for wildlife crazy family Fantastic day for our wildlife mad family. Informative naturalists including Hannah were a fabulous help in identifying the numerous whales we saw on our trip. Harbour seals and an impressive bald eagle were also spotted on our way to Butchart Gardens.

Arriving at 4pm at the gardens gave us an opportunity to explore without the crowds in daylight and allow us to enjoy a picnic and the garden’s superb firework display before heading home by bus. An unmissable day that we’d highly recommend.

So fun! The crew was fantastic. Blankets and hot cocoa were great. We were out for 4 hours or so. Saw a humpback that swam around us for an hour and put on a great show! Stopped and saw some sea lions, too.

Amazing Day ! We had a great trip! We saw humpbacks, orcas, eagles, seals and a bird colony! The crew (Anthony, James, Amy, Stuart and Ian) were excellent. They shared their knowledge and enthusiasm! And they continually looked for interesting things to point out and stop for.

I would recommend bringing binoculars. I didn’t have them and wish I did to get a bit closer look st the beautiful orcas.

Up close whale encounter Small boat more personal, quicker & easier to manoeuvre to follow whales as they hunt for fish. Our Guide/ Driver, Joe was very polite, considerate & knowledgeable. He tried to get as as close as he was allowed to the whales after spotting them, stopping the boat so they might swim towards us. We were lucky enough to see a group of about 6 orcas that were local to that area. In saying that they travel quite a distance so may only be seen every few weeks, especially in the winter. We also saw a couple of eagles, sea lions & sea otters, however the orcas were definitely the highlight... so beautiful to see them in the wild. More exciting than on a big boat with a lot of people, although cold we were given waterproof jumpsuits, beanies & gloves & told to dress warm. Perfect end to our Canadian Holiday.

Veramente incredibile. Non lo dimenticherò mai!!!! Super consigliato

One of the best experience of my life! Do this. You will it regret it. This really was awesome and I can’t recommend enough. We saw so much life - whales, orcas, otters, seals, sea lines and eagles. Mark was incredibly knowledgable, not just about where to find them but about their lives, their history and their behaviour. Just a couple of hours of hearing him talk about the sea life and looking at his photos would be worth the money alone! We got so close (but not too close!) to them and we’re able to take some great photos, but also left understanding much more about them and the threats to them (and the recovery stories too!)

It was a wonderful day!!! We went on the half day tour with Captains Anthony and Sandy.. Wilma is an amazing naturalist! We saw 8 humpback whales, seals, an eagle and other seabirds which Wilma pointed out for us. The crew which included Amy & Camille was very friendly and shared interesting tidbits. Hot drinks were included with the price of the tickets. We would certainly recommend this tour and would do it again to try and spot Orcas if we had the time.
