Experience

Experience the majesty of the Salish Sea and its wildlife, from whales surfacing in unison to bald eagles soaring overhead. Cut through the Strait of Juan de Fuca’s currents in search of orcas and humpback whales, and listen to our marine mammal experts bring the animals stories to life (while you stay warm, dry and hydrated in its heated cabin, of course!) The quintessential whale watching experience for every adventurer.

Did you know? Bald eagles mate for life, like wolves (we have those, too!)

What To Bring

It gets cold out on the water (trust us!), so we recommend windbreaker jackets, sweaters, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. It’s also a good idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a tight-fitting hat, a camera to capture some memorable moments and, above all, your sense of adventure!

Onboard snacks are available for purchase with CAD cash only (no credit/debit cards accepted) but please feel free to bring your own snacks if you wish.

Knowledgeable Naturalist We went out of Vancouver on a half day trip, poking into Howe Sound, the Strait of Georgia and the North Arm of the Fraser River. We tracked two orcas for a while, saw a breaching humpback whale mother and her calf, and some resting harbor seals. I wasn’t expecting to see much given how close we had to remain to the city on only a 3-5 hour trip, so was happy with what we did encounter. Plus being out on the water is a great way to experience another side of a new place. Our onboard naturalist Wilma was very knowledgeable and eager to share everything she knows with us. The captain Aaron was fully engaged with us as well, keeping us updated on our course, which he adjusted quickly with changing information coming in over his radio from other boats.

Must do while in Victoria. We took the Zodiac out and while it was cold, the suits kept us adequately protected. I was never uncomfortable. The guide was knowledgeable and while I wish we would have spent more time watching the Orcas, the humpbacks were amazing. Just dozens or them coming up just yards away from our boat. Highly recommend

great staff and amazing sightings sightings! Prince of Whales in Telegraph Cove is the best place to go for whale watching. On our last trip of the week, we saw transient orca whales hunting for their lunch. It was an amazing experience and we saw up to 30 orcas at a time! We also saw 4 humpback whales on that same trip. Overall great time and the staff were so nice and informative. We want to give a special thanks to Rebecca for making the trip even better.

Whale of a time I took my friend who was visiting from the UK on this tour, we were both blown away. It was an incredibly windy morning and the water was turbulent but they made this very clear from the beginning and even offered you the chance to rebook. The rough seas only added to the experience for us. It was great fun.

We managed to find 2 groups of seal eating orca in the Howe Sound and watched then for some time.

Crew were fantastic from start to finish, you can really tell they have a love for their job and the whales they see on a daily basis.

I work in local tourism and will definitely be recommending this to my guests!!
    Great job guys 😁

All at once We were out there in Telegraph Cove on one of their Zodiaks with our guide Andy. After 15 min we spotted the first group of orcas, which came very close to our boat. We had plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the moment. We moved on to the another spot where we could enjoy a group of humpack whales.
Our guide gave us very interesting background information on the whales and the local area. On the side we also spotted seals and eagles.
An awesome trip with an awesome guide!

Orcas and Humpbacks Did the Ultimate Day Trip to Victoria, very well organised and the staff were professional, friendly and passionate about the wildlife. We saw humpbacks on the way to Vancouver Island and spent a lovely afternoon at Butchart Gardens. The bus stops right outside of the Fairmont Empress so we had lunch there, however there are plenty of lunch options in the area. The 2.00pm bus gave us sufficient time at the gardens before our 4.15pm pick up. On the way home, our crew was in contact with other boats - there had been no orcas spotted south, so our crew decided to take a different route home to try the northern waters. Sure enough, we spotted a small pod of orcas just before reaching Vancouver. Very impressed with the crew Anthony, Sandy, James and Amy, what a great day out!
