Welcoming the New Year

Prince of Whales

Celebrating an Unforgettable Year at Prince of Whales

As we step into a brand-new year, all of us at Prince of Whales are taking a moment to reflect on what has truly been an unforgettable year. It’s been a year of growth, resilience, celebration, and unforgettable moments on the water, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights that made it so special.

We began the year with an important milestone: in March 2025, Prince of Whales became Rainbow Registered. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for both our guests and our team. We’re proud to ensure that everyone who joins us feels respected, valued, and celebrated!

This year also brought incredible recognition for our work. We were honoured to receive the Business of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce of Victoria, a meaningful acknowledgment of our team’s dedication, passion, and impact within the community. On a national scale, we were thrilled to once again be named Best Experience in Canada by Tripadvisor. Being recognized by travelers themselves makes this award especially meaningful.

One of the most emotional moments of the year was the reopening of Telegraph Cove after the fire. Seeing this iconic destination come back to life was a powerful reminder of the resilience of our coastal communities. Welcoming guests back to the Cove and onto the water there was something we’ll never take for granted.

Looking toward the future, we were excited to announce our fourth custom-built catamaran, set to splash in 2026. This new vessel represents our continued investment in innovation, sustainability, and providing world-class experiences for our guests.

Of course, no year at Prince of Whales would be complete without incredible wildlife, and this season was filled by incredible sightings from all of our locations.

On screen, Season Two of Breaching News aired with CHEK TV, bringing the magic of the Salish Sea into homes across the region. We’ve loved sharing these stories and are already looking ahead with excitement to Season Three, coming back in late April.

Accessibility and connection were also key focuses this year. We proudly launched Italian and Japanese language guides across all locations, making our tours more inclusive and accessible to international guests from around the world.

Our commitment to conservation remained front and center. During our Gorge Cleanup, in collaboration with Surfrider Foundation and Transport Canada, we collected over 500 pounds of trash, helping protect local waterways and marine life.

As we ring in the New Year, we want to thank our guests, partners, crew, and community for being part of this journey. Your support makes everything we do possible. From all of us at Prince of Whales, we wish you a happy, healthy, and adventurous New Year!
