Celebrate Earth Day

Prince of Whales

By becoming a More Sustainable Whale Watcher

Earth Day is the perfect time to reflect on how we can all tread a little lighter and show more care for the planet, especially when exploring it. Whether you’re a local or visiting from afar, there are small, impactful choices you can make to help protect the Salish Sea and its incredible marine life during your whale watching adventure.

At Prince of Whales, sustainability is at the core of everything we do—from reducing waste on our vessels to educating guests about the ecosystems we travel through. But the journey to a healthier planet is one we all share. Here are a few simple ways you can join us:

1. Bring Your Reusable Water Bottle

Skip the single-use plastic and refill at our water stations! We have one in each of our check-in offices, and fresh water available on board of our catamarans. It’s one of the easiest ways to reduce waste and keep hydrated on the water.

2. Pack Your Travel Mug

Have a favourite mug? Bring it along—we’ll fill it with hot coffee or cocoa on board. It’s a cozy and sustainable choice that helps reduce the use of disposable cups.

3. Travel Green to Our Locations

Whenever you can, walk, bike, or take public transit to our departure points. It reduces your carbon footprint and gives you a chance to enjoy the scenic beauty of the cities we operate in!

4. Recycle When On Board

We have compost and recycling bins on board, so make sure to check what you’re throwing away and put it in the right bin!

5. Leave Nothing Behind but Awe

From sunscreen to snack wrappers, every little thing makes a difference. Choose reef-safe products, avoid single-use plastics, and always pack out what you pack in.

As Earth Day approaches, we invite you to be part of something bigger by making small choices that protect this place we all love. The Salish Sea is a gift, and together, we can help keep it thriving!

Happy Earth Day from all of us at Prince of Whales!
