CELEBRATING WOMEN IN TOURISM

Prince of Whales

PRINCE OF WHALES WHALE WATCHING SPONSORS BC BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

We are very glad to announce that Prince of Whales Whale Watching is sponsoring the BC Business Woman of the Year award, presented at the annual BC Tourism and Hospitality conference. This year, the conference will take place in Prince George, BC, from Wednesday, March 1 to Friday, March 3, 2023, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!

As a tourism organization, we recognize the important role that women play in the tourism industry. In fact, a great many of the key positions in tourism are held by women, and it is great to see that the tourism sector has progressed to be more inclusive and welcoming to women in business. These women have made a significant impact in the industry, and we are proud to support them. We believe in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our business. That’s why this year, the BC Business Woman of the Year award was created to recognize the achievements of women in the industry. As we look towards the future, it’s clear that the leadership of Prince of Whales will likely be led by our very own business woman, Elspeth McGillivray! With her vision and passion for the industry, she is meant to take Prince of Whales to new heights.

Last year, the award was won by Teara Fraser, Founder and CEO of Iskwew Air , an inspiring local business that offers custom charter flights and is expanding into scheduled departures from the Vancouver International Airport. Her successes are truly inspirational to us, much like the achievements of the many other amazing award winners that were celebrated at the 2022 BC Tourism and Hospitality Conference!

We are proud to say that the majority of our fantastic team is made up of women. From administration to vessel crew, they are the backbone of our company, working hard every day to ensure that our customers have the best experience possible. They bring a unique perspective to the table and bring a different approach to problem-solving, which allows Prince of Whales to be a more well-rounded and diverse organization.

We are proud to sponsor the BC Business Woman of the Year award, and we are committed to supporting women in the tourism industry. We believe that women have a vital role to play in shaping the future of tourism and that it’s important to recognize and celebrate their achievements. By working together, we can continue to create a more diverse and inclusive industry for everyone. Stay tuned to find out who will be the winner of this year’s BC Business Woman of the Year Award!
