We’re excited to share that we are once again proud sponsors of the 2026 IMPACT Sustainability Travel and Tourism Summit, returning to Victoria this January!
Victoria is one of the most remarkable places on Earth. From dramatic shorelines and thriving coastal communities to diverse marine ecosystems, people travel from all over the world to experience its natural beauty. As tourism continues to grow, an important question follows: how can we ensure tourism benefits the environment and local communities it depends on? That’s exactly where IMPACT comes in.
What Is IMPACT?
IMPACT is a multi-day conference dedicated to advancing sustainable and regenerative tourism practices. Founded right here in Victoria, the conference brings together tourism professionals, innovators, researchers, and changemakers from around the globe to share ideas, research, and real-world solutions.

IMPACT was created to inspire meaningful change, encouraging tourism that supports destinations, communities, and ecosystems alike. At Prince of Whales, we are proud to sponsor this initiative year after year and to be part of a growing movement towards responsible travel.
Over four days, attendees can look forward to thought-provoking ideas, collaboration, and connection. The conference features keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities. Topics range from ocean protection and climate action to eco-friendly travel practices and responsible food waste management. We’re particularly looking forward to the panel “Protecting Oceans and Water: The Role of Tourism” led by some of our industry peers, that will focus on marine experiences and ways to reduce their impact on our local communities.
The Day Of IMPACT
A highlight of the conference is the Day of IMPACT. Starting one day before the summit, Day of IMPACT is an immersive experience designed to showcase the many ways our community brings sustainable and regenerative tourism to life. From a journey through the Salish Sea to meaningful conversations with Indigenous leaders, and local changemakers. We are proud hosts of the Day of IMPACT, taking guests aboard our catamaran to explore initiatives such as Cascadia Seaweed, which is leading the way in reducing emissions and helping to curb the vicious cycle of climate change, along with insights and innovations from Songhees Tours, leaders in Lək̓ʷəŋən-hosted experiences in Victoria. The day highlights how collaboration between tour operators, Indigenous leaders, and conservation professionals can create lasting positive impact and inspire regenerative approaches to the future of our industry. Participants return home inspired, equipped with real-world examples, new connections, and practical ideas they can adapt within their own communities.
